Recently the Facebook has launched a new update for its messenger platform. Until now the payment feature that was launched in 2015, which was limited for person-to-person only. But now the company is taking a step ahead to widen the scope of payment options. With the new update released on April 11, users can now send and receive the money to and from a specific user present in the group.
The Group Payments option is available in U.S and only for Android platform, for iOS, the feature is not yet available.
How to use Group Payments option in Messenger?
The new Group Payments option works in the same manner as it works for the private user. The Group Payments option allows a user to pay to everyone or to an individual user by clicking the payments icon. The payment option is available on the left side at the bottom of the screen. The other less-used options like games, location sharing, request a ride option are moved away.
The updated payment option is displayed in green hue with $ sign on it. In order to make a payment click on this icon, then tap the person to whom you want to send or receive money. You can also select group of users from this option.
If you wish to divide the payable amount among a list of users, you just need to input the total sum and it will be distributed among the users. Lastly, the users can specify the purpose of payment for instance whether it’s a hotel bill or electricity bill etc.
This payment option is designed so that users should not move to PayPal, Venmo and other payment means. It is the safe, fast and secure way to make payment.
In the case of Group Payments option, the notification will pop-up showing which group participant has made payment and which has not. With this, we can track the payment.
Also, the debit card details that users need to provide for payment is safe and secured. The feature is provided free of cost. The Group Payments method is expected to boost the revenue of e-commerce companies.
